Best Actress in a Supporting Role
BEST ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLEYup, I'm back to doing it! Yay!
It was a weirdly great year for the category, but one that still gets outshined by Actress. Because, despite the lead category's mighty complex of shortlisters, Supporting's is even larger, only less interestingly, ya know?
Well, what do you think? Pleeease tell me.

Great, love EVERY single pick...what a tough category, so easy to pick someone else over someone else, you know?
But you picked great.
Good list. Just a note though, "Breaking and Entering" was a 2006 film.

Jennifer Garner is surprisingly amazing in Juno. I can't praise her enough.
I must watch Atonement. I've always loved seeing watch young actresses delivering great performances.
Nick: Danke. And YES. Except it wasn't easy - I REALLY wanted to put Emily Mortimer in there, put I just could not take out my #5 for it. *sigh*
Matt: I count it as 2007. And if you look at it's BO performance by weekend, it starts at January 26th of last year, which makes it's 2006 "release date" obviously an Academy qualifier run (thank you, Harvey!). And I don't count Academy qualifier runs (same thing for festival dates).
Marcy: ♥ And yes, you must. You won't regret it, I promise.
Yay for Garai, Garner and TILDA! Curious as to what you thought about Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone and Charlotte Gainsbourg in I'm Not There (those were my other two picks, in case you couldn't tell lol).
I thought Ryan was very good in Gone Baby Gone, but I still don't get the major acclaim she gets, lol.
And I still haven't seen I'm Not There. *embarrassed*
Don't you have it on your queue? I'm Not There?
I actually have it at home right now. But because of the fact that I've seen 105 '07 movies and I think that's enough, I've decided not to watch any more for the rest of the time I'm doing the Chloes.
*pathetic*
Somewhat dull. :(
And what's absolutely criminal is no Kelly MacDonald?!
Hey, she's a semi-finalist...!?
:(
Good choices. Anyone who nominates Saoirse is wonderful though
I don't count qualifying runs either, but according to Box Office Mojo, the release date is December 15, 2006. They don't usually count qualifying runs I don't think.
Well then, why don't they have any BO info until a month and a half later?
Either way, it's way too late to re-think her placement now, methinks.
No idea. Sometimes discerning between official release dates and qualifying runs makes my head hurt.
It took me forever to decide what year to put "The Lives of Others" in. I used to go strictly by the Academy, but their rules are screwy. I ended up going with the official release date, which was in 2007.
These are all really cool JD.
I can't believe you have SUPPORTING VOICE OVER nominees.
LOL! Well, what can I say?
Seriously, I can't. I have no excuse or explanation. I'm just weird like that.
i like your limited supporting role nods..."guys dad" from Once and the French guy from Atonement.
Good call and good attention to these different characters. Nice work.
