2008 -- #7 Get Smart

Starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne "I'm Not The Rock Anymore, So Stop Calling Me That" Johnson, Terrence Stamp and Alan Arkin
Directed by Peter Segal
From Warner Bros.
Might Be Released on June 20th
Steve Carell is one of the funniest men on the planet. Anne Hathaway is one of the most gorgeous women on earth, and one of my favorite actresses. Put 'em all together and what do ya got? What could be a massive bomb. Or the funniest action blockbuster in years. I don't know. But I'm not sweatin' it at all. I mean, I dislike, what, 3% of things I see? And the odds this'll be in that 3% is about 30560:1, right? So I've got nothing to worry about! Also: Terrence Stamp scares me, in a "I'm going to hit you with a screwdriver" kind of way. I have no idea what that means, but it's how I feel!

I'm curious... how many of you at home are keeping up with this countdown? I'd like to hear it if you are.

I am!
But I just see now that this has The Rock in it. This is bad. I don't like The Rock.
But Steve and Anne were cute at the Oscars, so hopefully this will work. They sure look good...
Oh, and I'm ridiculously late on this, but (a belated) happy birthday! You can punish me by dangling Romola in front of my face and then promptly running off with her. (See? I even give you ideas on how to punish me. Now that's friendship. :p)
I'm ambivalent on The Rock. His existence here doesn't really affect my wanting of it.
It's okay, Dave. You know, Sunday didn't even really seem like my birthday at all, so I'm really sort of floating, looking for the presents I haven't gotten yet...
And even if I could do that (Romola doesn't like being used for vengeance - it's one of our compromises), I wouldn't. Well, I'd try not to. :)
hmmm i guess i'll just see this because i trully love both or the main actors. but maybe it surprises me... enchanted's first sceening did... the second kinda bored me... lol
I like The Rock. On the other hand, I think this looks awful and is the odds-on favorite to be the bomb of the summer. But I've been wrong before...
I really hope this is a blockbuster! It looks really cute and funny. Let's hope that the good parts aren't all in the trailers.
"I mean, I dislike, what, 3% of things I see?"
Okay, phew, I always think I'm going mad looking at your sidebar. Just give it a few years and you'll be throwing about Ds and Cs like they're going out of fashion. :)
Probably. :)
